Thank you for your patience and understanding during the short period of time.

General Info

The Division of Building Safety Plan Review Program examines construction contract documents for compliance with applicable codes. Codes currently adopted are listed in the Idaho Statutes Title 39 Chapter 41.

This review and approval is required for buildings owned or occupied by Idaho State agencies, public schools and modular (factory built) structures. Under some conditions the review of public schools may be done by the city or county instead of by DBS. These include school projects with a value of less than $100,000 or when the city or county has full time examiners that are certified and qualified in each of the applicable codes.

Plan Review Services Available
The Division of Building Safety continues to provide code plan review services for individual construction projects upon request by local city or county building code enforcement jurisdictions. For more details contact Lisa Stover (208) 332-8963.

Elevator Plan Review
Plans and specifications for any conveyance (Elevator, Escalator, Lift) construction, new, additions and remodels, must be reviewed by DBS. Please see the elevator forms section to submit an application.
