
How to Request and Receive a Permit
The major change for contractors and others requesting permits over the counter or through the mail beginning February 3, 2009 is that permit fees will be payable at the time of application. Unused permit numbers previously issued to contractors will no longer be valid and should be discarded or destroyed.
To apply for and be issued a permit through the online interface, go to: https://data.dbs.idaho.gov/etrakit2/.
LOGIN INSTRUCTIONS:
- You will have to login using the your
EXACT license number with dashes.
Examples: ELE-C-42 or PLB-C-11300 or HVC-C-658 and with your unique Personal Identification Number (PIN). Your PIN is the last four (4) digits of the Social Security Number (SSN) or Employer Identification Number (EIN) that we have on file for you.
- If you do not know what that is, or if you have not been issued such a number, you may call us at 1-800-955-3044 to have a PIN issued to you.
ENTERING AN ADDRESS:
- In Step 1 of the Address Section, choose “Click here to search.”
- When prompted to Enter City Name select a city from the menu.
- When prompted to enter in Street Name select a street name from the menu.
- If the address you seek is on the list, choose that address by clicking on Select Address.
- Once address is accepted, continue with the permit application process.
If the city, street name or address is not on the list
- If, at any step in the application process your information is not found, choose cancel and return to the main screen (Step 1).
- You may now enter your address information by typing in the spaces provided.
- Confirm information in Step 5 and proceed to payment.
